Onero Method for Stronger Bones after 40

Strong Bones After 40: Why Women Are Turning to the Onero Method

The Missing Piece in Your Wellness Plan

As women enter their 40s and beyond, conversations about wellness often shift—from how we look to how we feel, move, and age. Strength, balance, and bone density become more than fitness buzzwords—they’re critical components of long-term health and independence. But while many women stay active, few are introduced to the kind of strength training that research shows can actually reverse bone loss and prevent fractures.

That’s where the Onero™ Method comes in—a scientifically backed program designed specifically for women with low bone density. In Kirkland, WA, personal trainer and Studio Bloom founder Linda Goos is helping women over 40 rediscover their strength and protect their bones through this powerful approach.

In this article, we’ll explore why bone health matters so much after 40—and how the Onero Method is changing lives by helping women live stronger, longer.

Why Bone Health Matters After 40

Bone loss is a silent process. Most women don’t feel it happening—until a fracture changes everything. After age 40, and especially post-menopause, women can lose up to 20% of their bone mass in just five to seven years. That loss doesn’t just impact strength or posture—it dramatically increases the risk of hip fractures, spinal compression, and long-term disability.

According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, one in two women over 50 will experience a fracture related to bone loss in their lifetime. And yet, most fitness programs for women still focus on cardio, yoga, or low-impact movement—leaving out the kind of targeted strength training that bones need to rebuild.

Research shows that the key to bone health isn’t just movement—it’s load. Bones respond to stress, and without the right kind of resistance and impact, they gradually weaken. That’s why experts now recommend high-intensity strength training—done safely and under supervision—as one of the most effective ways to strengthen bones and reduce fracture risk.

What Is the Onero Method?

The Onero™ Method isn’t your typical fitness class. Developed from the groundbreaking LIFTMOR study conducted in Australia, Onero is a high-intensity resistance and impact training program designed specifically for people with low bone mass. And while the idea of “high intensity” might sound intimidating, the research behind it is both compelling and reassuring.

Unlike general strength training, Onero focuses on specific movement patterns and loading strategies that stimulate bone growth in the hips and spine—the two areas most vulnerable to fractures as we age. In fact, the study that inspired Onero found that over 80% of participants increased bone density at the lumbar spine, and nearly 70% improved it at the hip—two of the most fracture-prone areas in women over 50.

What makes Onero unique is its combination of challenge and safety. Under proper supervision, participants perform movements like weighted deadlifts, overhead presses, and impact-loading exercises that were once considered risky for women with osteoporosis. But the data tell a different story: when taught and monitored correctly, these movements are not only safe—they’re transformative.

Onero isn’t about pushing through pain or maxing out. It’s about targeted, intelligent training that sends a clear message to your bones: stay strong, rebuild, adapt. And at Studio Bloom, Linda Goos is bringing that message to life in a way that feels empowering.
