The Tummy Temple is a result of the combined professional efforts of Tim and Kristi, a fantastic team of passionate therapists and the desires of a health conscious community. After meeting on a blind date, falling madly in love, getting engaged in 12 days, and then married within 4 months, Kristi and Tim steadily moved towards combining their lives in every way. At the onset of this journey they asked themselves, "what can we do that will utilize our talents and professional experience, will benefit the community, and will allow us to build a life together on a daily basis?" At first glance the natural health care and corporate technology industries may not seem like an obvious match. However, when you consider the power of the internet for providing information, the public's blossoming interest in natural digestive and reproductive health care, and an industry ripe for business structure you get something of great value that empowers a community. The Tummy Templers believe that health begins with learning how to "trust your gut." That gets a lot easier when one is effectively nourished and eliminating that which is no longer useful – waste. The Tummy Temple is dedicated to providing heart-centered services, quality products, and empowering education to our clients. I came to the Pacific NW in the mid-90s from Chapel Hill, NC looking for cooler, fresher air and a better way to take care of myself and my worsening health. After a lifetime of digestive and elimination issues I found relief with the art of cleansing. Feeling like a giant sponge for any information on this healing art form I knew I had found my purpose in life. I watched my life turn into a symphony of wellness and synchronicity as I learned to "trust my gut" and how to take care of it. After 7 years of providing colon hydrotherapy, massage therapy, and wellness education in clinical settings I decided along with the support of clients and my husband that it was time for a "Temple." I felt that my clients deserved a sacred space that honored the deep work they were doing. That "work" was mainly changing their relationships to their sacred tummies from one of distrust, discomfort, and disgust to one of joy, abundance, and love. There's more to that process than just cleaning out the colon. Turning tummies into Temples can take some serious trust and luxury. This Temple would not be a place of puritanical judgment but rather a place to recognize the perfection of knowing that exists within the core of each one of us. I am thrilled to say that I have watched my dream come true. All the services, products, and education that gave me my life force back are available to me and my community under one very holy roof. The lives I see positively changed by their experiences at the Tummy Temple, the vitality that I feel as a result of my commitment to seasonal cleansing, and the infinite amount of empowering information there is to learn in the healing arts keep me continuously inspired on this journey to fulfilling my purpose. I have never been happier, more gratified or proud in my career than to be a part of the Tummy Temple. My path to building the Tummy Temple was an unlikely one for which I cherish the skills and experiences I gained along the way. They have all been applied in some form or fashion here in the Tummy Temple. In business my focus was more international and technology oriented. In health I was doing the best I could with exercise and popular nutrition trends, surprisingly a superficial approach that was heading me in the direction of a lot of unnecessary problems in the coming years. When I first met Kristi, I did not even know what colon hydrotherapy was nor had I invested much in body therapies, such as massage. It was through Kristi that I became keenly aware of abdominal pain and suffering that my mind had blocked out as "normal" and gained a newfound respect and appreciation for body therapies. At first I was nervous and didn't highly value colon hydrotherapy or massage as many of the benefits are cumulative; granted I always felt better after a session. As time and action has proven I am a living example of their value. The results I experience are beyond what I imagined possible. It has always been a commitment of mine to build a business that directly helps people improve the quality of their lives. I joined forces with Kristi because we wanted to unify our energy, time and expertise in doing something we both loved and felt our community would appreciate. I believe so much in what we are doing and in providing the best service to you that, though I don't personally offer colon hydrotherapy, I have been trained and certified in it. I continue to develop my understanding and knowledge in what we offer by receiving the services myself and learning the actual skills directly from the experts.
